The Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of the educational experiences within a classroom and as an outgrowth of the curriculum.
1. Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students.
2. Supervises students in a variety of school settings.
3. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
4. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, and community.
5. Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
6. Provides an atmosphere and environment so that each student will have the opportunity to develop intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
7. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
8. Maintains appropriate records.
9. Monitors and assists the student in the proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
10. Participates in school and county workshops as directed.
11. Integrates the use of computers to achieve curricular goals.
12. Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
13. Reacts to change productively and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements of the position include:
1. Has obtained or is eligible for a Maryland Professional Teacher's License in the appropriate field of study or has completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree to be Conditionally Licensed.
2. Has good interpersonal communication skills.
The salary range for the 2025-2026 school year for this 10 month position is $57,914-$92,951 and will commensurate with training and experience. Advanced preparation and longevity increments based on degree conferral and years of experience are in addition to the regular base salary. The salary schedule with these increments can be found here: Salary Scales. Salary scales for the 2026-2027 school year will be made available upon final approval.
